I am concerned because my husband received a mailing that said he was preapproved for this membership. All he had to do was call the number and verify his information. He did.
We were debited $199.00 from our checking account for so called membership fees. We did not know this until our bank sent a statement with this info.
About 1 week later we received a packet welcoming us into this program. My understanding was that until you signed the forms and 30 days had lapsed that you were not under any obligation. Not true! When we called to tell them that we did not want this program and to cancel this, we were told that we can cancel the membership with a written letter but that the $199.00 was theirs to keep.
I feel this is a scam. Legal or not - please beware. It will take a signed written letter to nulify this agreement, yet it did not take a signed membership letter to have them proceed. This is a rip off no matter how you look at it. Just beware of these companies that act like they are doing you a favor. They are not.
