I kept noticing a random phone number calling my cell phone, the # was 416-977-1719, so today I answered it. It was a lady from Prime One Financial named Janet (ID # 794) who called to offer me a pre-approved, unsecured mastercard with a limit of $1000. She touted all the member benefits, and said that there is a one time fee of $187 (lifetime membership fee). Reluctantly I gave my checking account # to her, she assured me it was safe to do so, and then said that a financial advisor would be calling me within 30 minutes to verify payment. Between the time I hung up and when he called, I looked online and found this site.
I called my bank and made sure that no charge from these guys would be allowed to go through. Then, as promised this little bastard, Dale (phone # 416-542-1629) called to verify everything. I told him I'd like to get his direct extension, and he said he didn't have one. I also asked to speak with his supervisor/manager, he was dodging the questions left and right. I told him I absolutely DO NOT AUTHORIZE this transaction, he said he had cancelled it.
This just happened a few minutes ago, I am assuming they will try to charge my account anyway. Please be weary of these sneaky assholes.
