So yup, I was fooled into thinking this was legitimate.
So much for the $1.95 charge for the information.
This is a lesson in read absolutely everything before you hand out a credit card number.
The visa company says they can't do a charge back for the additional charge of $57.61 US that was charged 24 hours after the $1.95 charge.
My biggest complaint is, in the welcoming letter one receives via email, they do not disclose they will charge the $57.61 after 24 hours and every 30 days thereafter if you do not cancel the membership within 24 hours.
After looking at the website and realizing it's BS, I could have gotten the same information from the government websites for our country and province. I was happy to know it was only a twoonie I lost and not more. Little did I realize it would be a whole lot more.
If I and I am sure so many others were well aware of the addtional charges, I never would have signed up in the first place. I hate having to remember to cancel things and hope the company follows through with the request and not keep charging.

I called the grantsmoney number, the representative cancelled my membership and sent me a refund request. We will see if they actually refund the money. It seems after reading some of these reports others are not so lucky. Have they filled out the refund request?
I tried to log back into the website and couldn't, so the cancellation request of the website is done. So now we wait for the monies to be credited back.
I will report back if I am refunded.
