The Troon Company was hired by First Union Bank in 1998 to collect debt for a reposed vehicle. This item is showing on my credit report a seriously deliquent, however, the amount the Troon Company has reported due is 3 times the amount of the vehicle at the time of purchase.
Approximately, 2 years ago, I tried to set up payment arrangements with the Troon Company to take care of this debt. However, they refused to work with me through payment arrangements, they wanted $7500.00 in full at that time. Obviosly, I could not come up with that much money and advised the Troon representative of this. He told me laughingly, "too bad, we can't help you".
Since that conversation 2 years ago, I have not received any bills or contacts from Troon Company. This debt is still showing on my credit report after all this time and there seems to be nothing I can do to clear it up. I am willing in good faith, to make payments on this debt to the Troon Company, but am no longer able to reach them nor have I been contacted by them.
How is a person supposed to clear up their credit if the creditors/collection agencies don't work with the debtors???
