In 2006 I was ripped off to the tune of $35K - which turned into $50K in a few short months. After I found out I was fraudulently ripped off, I froze all of my credit files. I was notified in 2009 that this company had sold my credit report to a potential employer, thus causing me to loose a $60K per year job. They then sent me a letter that I have to renew my credit freeze every 90 days.
