Ripped me off after I lost my Money Gram money order. Money Gram has denied that my money order ever existed

On October 5, I purchased my Money Gram money order at Publix in Fort Lauderdale off of SE 17th Street.in a few seconds, I accidently threw away my newly purchased Money Gram MO. I realized this 20 minutes later.

A Publix manager told me that it was too late for me to go through the trash, and that I need to contact Money Gram for reimbursement. Any time I've called Money Gram, I've waited at least half an hour. When I finally got a hold of someone, I told the Money Gram rep that I threw the whole MO away, stub and all. I was told to send the purchase receipt and stub if I have it. I asked the Money Gram rep if I could send the original purchase receipt [from Publix] and the claim card. The rep said yes and that there would be deductions for lost stub and for processing fee. So that is what
"this" rep has said.

I sent in the Money Gram claim card along with my MO serial number as annotated by the Publix Manager, and I checked multiple times with the manager of Publix and myself. I knew I had to get this information correct since there was a 6 week wait for the processing. That's part of the scam, no?

Finally in December, while I was in GA, I got a call from a landlord that my Money Gram letter came in. I waited till I got back into Lauderdale, FL, [March 09] and low and behold, no check... No money reimbursement.

Money Gram's response in the letter to me was that I needed the "stub" from the MO. I thought I didn't need it after talking to the first rep. I called Money Gram, another half hour or so... Finally I'm talking to someone. I ask the Money Gram, ID number 208, if I in fact need the "stub" to get reimbursed, she said "the department will decide that" and then she asked me for the serial number of this MO. I tell her the serial numbers from the claim card, and she says that there is no such MO. Yet, the letter does not deny this MO ever existed.

Google Money Gram Scam... Enjoy.

What can we do about this? Publix has since changed to Western Union. I belive Money Gram is attempting to gain more profits or save money by denying those who have no stub or denying the existence of the serial numbers when people claim losses. Seems easy enough to do I guess. I'm broke, now I have no money to pay rent until I get my last paycheck from GA. And I'm scared and just frustrated.

I sincerely hope Money Gram suffers from the Economic downturn and goes out of business... That or get sued for fraud. This is typical, I can't even be that angry... Which is also frustrating.
