I was contacted on my cell phone to give a message to someone I know to call Lobel Finance. I would later ask his name and he said David after pausing, so I'll call him David whether or not that's his name. The person he wanted me to give the message to, I'll call Jessie for this communication. When I asked what it is regarding, I was told that "She knows". When I asked why I am being contacted, David said I was listed as a reference for Jessie. I said I found this fishy, and I don't understand why I'm being contacted if I've been listed as a reference, that while I'll give Jessie the message, I don't wish to be contacted further, that I would like to have my number taken off this reference for further communications, and as I was saying goodbye and hanging up, the person stated "I'll let her know".
My hand finished hanging up before my mind processed it, so I redialed and asked what he meant. He explained to me exactly why he can call me, and I told him that if this is the case, I can't be involved in something involving putting someone I know in touch with someone this shady, and that if he really is who he says he is that he would have information on how to contact her. I told him that if he insists on calling me to please not use my cell phone (I was going to give him my home phone, which will not use cell phone minutes, but he cut me off). He shouted at me saying he promised to call me everyday and use up my phone minutes, and slammed the phone.
I blocked his number, but this company probably has far too many lines for me to be able to stop him. He might stop, but either way, he had no issue with terrifying people to reach his goals. I called Jessie about it, and she spoke to a representative at Lobel who seemed to be more reasonable. When she followed up with me, I let her know not to mess with these people, that as soon as she got off the phone, its more likely that David got a pat on the back to get her [Jessie] to call.
The fact is that that they know VERY well who they are hiring, that with unemployment so high, they can choose the best, and they are employing David. They chose him. I also asked her not to give my personal information without giving me an opportunity to check the company out online, as this company appears to be involved in horrifying practices, ruining people's lives, intruding on personal information enough to be identity thieves.
When I found out her mother was also contacted and that she planned to go to the local office and make a scene, I begged her mom not to. She wanted them to know what they did by upsetting her, that she could die, that she has medical problems and she's extremely upset from the call, that she had to go to the hospital after speaking to David, and her blood pressure was so high she could have had a stroke. I begged her to do things anonymously, that there's fear that these folks are capable of heinous ways to harm people. I hope and pray that I get a chance to testify against them in a court of law should the opportunity arise.
I will travel however far necessary and take the time off work to see this company has no more power to harm people. Stress kills, and its not some new-age staying. Its medically proven. They can kill people with these practices. Jessie, by the way, did make the payment they accused her of not paying, and it seems she's not the only one being hassled, having to prove it. She has plenty of family whom she could have come to if there were a problem, so they are either lying, or terrifying people before she has a chance to fix the miscommunication.
I think this company preys on people that are too ignorant and/or desperate to work with them, and know they can terrify them into overpayment. Why else would they do this?
