I was contaced on Jan 26th by a young man who said he was calling on behalf of a magaizine fufill ment center and he was calling to check that I was reciving my subscriptions alright. I told him that I was and was having no other problems thank you. He then stated that being a new employee he had to turn me over to his supervisor and would I please put a good word in for him. I told him I would.
I should have seen the 30 foot red flag waving in front of my face when the so called supervisor did not once ask about the young man. The next flag that I did not see was when she asked to confirm my checking account information that she had. This is when I started to pay closer attention and was informed that the first payment of $79.80 would be deducted from my checking account.
I proceeded to argue that I did not give her permission to take anything out of my account, I also told her that all the other times that I had magazines ordered I paid by money order and never gave out any personal information. She informed me that this is always how they had done buisness and of I wanted to pay by money order after that it would alright.
I again agrued that I did not give her permission to take anything out of my account. The next morning I was informed that the magazines " that were reoreded for me" two of where in my mothers name and the third was a gift subscription that I just got and is not ready to renew. That was a Monday and o Thursday of the same week I get a phone call from my teeange daughter that the company that had called was on the news and they were talking to some of the 5,000 Colorado people who had been scammed by the same Company Heartland Inc.
I called the bank and was told that htey had already gotten an email about the scam and we took immedate action and closed the account and all that goes with it, Three days after the account was closed sure enough they tried to take out the money.in the mean time I recived the letter they said they would and I filled out all the right paperwork according to the company to cancel the order, I also called the 1-800-4882 number and left a message about how I did not apperciate being scammed. I also told them to never call or contact me again.
Well that was already shot in the shorts I recived a bill in the mail today 2-07 saying that the next $40 is due on 2-20. I left another message and told them that once again I did not want what they have to lie and steal to get. They had all my infomation which I am sure that they got from the jerk that stole it last year. He is now in Jail and I hope that is where these lowdown wasted excuse for canine excremt goes.
