I saw a TV infomercial given by Robert Shemin stating that there would be free workshops at local area hotels and that they would be giving out a free copy of his book Unlimited Riches as well as a $250 gas card. Robert Shemin was not at any meetings for his infomercial, nor was he even mentioned when I attended his free seminar series.
I went to a hotel in both Newport Beach and Anaheim, Ca. The Saturday meeting was given by Bob Diamond, a well known author, bankruptcy lawyer and realtor himself. The Tuesday meeting was given by Matt Madsen, also a well known property investor. They were actually selling and promoting the Bob Diamond program which includes a binder of information as well as several discs for both the DVD and CD players. The cost was $1497.00 and there was supposed to be a 3 day training session to follow. So based upon what was said during both the meetings I attended, I felt this was a legit business offer and unfortunately decided to participate. (Based upon their reputations)
The training was taught by Denise Devoe (www.getrichwithDenise.com) and her 2 sidekicks Chris Sanders, real estate investor from Florida and Mark
Samuels, real estate investor from New York. The meeting was at another hotel & the cost to park was $15 a day and they did not validate it so that was an additional $45 in parking fees for the three days. There were 85 people in attendance on the first day, which was Friday Oct. 3rd.
The first thing we were told by Ms. Devoe was to take our training things back to our cars since we would not be using them! This already was sounding like a scam to buy the program materials and then not be taught how to use them, and since they held the training 12 days after I had purchased the original materials it was beyond the 72 hours I would have to cancel the contract, how convenient for them!
It ended up to be a 3 day love fest of Denise telling us her many success stories and very little actual training of any sort. Chris Sanders gave us a few tips on how to land lord properly and Mark Samuels gave a 30 minutes talk about various government programs available. (wish it could have been more as he actually had good info for us)
The gist of the whole 3 days was that to be successful we would need a mentor to help us through the process. The cost was an additional $18,995.00 for a three day live mentor and 6 follow up sessions. Wellyou guessed it! I actually got the sucker punch by charging the program. I was told the mentor would call me in the next two days and you know as well as I do, no one ever called! So I had to call them at 866-808-0822 and was told there was no paperwork for me.
I immediately contacted my credit card company to report the fraud and further sent certified letters and faxed a contract cancellation to them at 585-464-9337.
I was told I would receive a credit within 10 to 12 days & that did not happen so I called again after that time was up and was told it would be another 7 to 10 days to credit back since I had to return a software program called Prop-Stream.
They have acknowledged having received the property back and I have a green signature card returned confirmed from the US Postal Service as of 10-10-08.
It is now 10-21 and still no credit on my card.
All I can now say is BUYER BEWARE just don't go there!!
