I purchased this book for $5.00 at Walgreens. (It was in the discount bin), and feel I still overpaid. This book is nothing but fluff, and the first 50 pages, the author basically repeats himself. He then tells the reader pretty much how to steal from credit card companies. I realize the credit companies are driven by greed, but the author is advising consumers that if their credit card bill is too high, you can negotiate with the credit company to settle the debt for less than you owe. What he fails to mention is it will be listed as a chargeoff on your credit report and it will tank your score.in all fairness, he does illustrate point by point how to read your credit report. This is valuable info for anyone who is unclear on how credit reports work. The rest of the 'valuable' info is basically calling your credit company and asking for a reduced interest rate. This is, in my opinion, common knowledge in the media and not a real trade secret.
Lastly, I will admit there are sections of this book I have not read, but promise to update my report in the event there is something of value to share with the public, but I doubt it.
