This company is one of the many "zombie" debt collectors that buys old debts, re-ages the debts, and then tries to collect.
They contacted me while I was working. Not wanting to be bothered, I asked if I could "take a message". That was the last I heard from them.
Somehow, they found my son, despite the fact that we live in different states and have different last names. They found both his home number AND his work number. They have been relentless in calling him both at home and at work, which causes him embarassment. They claimed that I "gave him as a reference", which was untrue. I do not go around giving out my son's information, and I don't even HAVE his number at his job!
I instructed my son to tell them not to call him anymore. I informed him that if they do so again, they will be breaking the law and he should sue them.
I have worked as the outside sales rep for a collections agency, and I know the law. These people have no regard for the law or the trouble they may cause for innocent family members. They call themselves "Professionals"? Hardly!
