My husband got this letter in the mail by "Publishers Clearing House" in a plain envelope with a canadian stamp on it and no return address and thought it to be true. There was a real check inside the letter saying to call before cashin. He called the name Mrs. Donna Sawyer on the letter and the lady told him that he was a real winner for the contest. She told him to go to the bank to put the money in and keep $2800 out to pay the prize people when they come to our house on Wednesday eve. We tried call Mr. Harvey Armstrong that was listed on the letter and there was no one at that number. My husband tried calling this Donna Sawyer back and when she finally got on the phone he told her he knew it was a scam and she immediately hung up on him. I, his wife, called her and "she wasn't there" and was told to leave her a message. I told her we'd have police waiting for them when they got to our house on Wednesday. We have no idea where this came from but hope no one else falls for this. Be careful people!!!
