TLG Everyday Value & Chase Credit Card - Hess
Chase Credit Card P. O Box 15298 Wilmington, DE 19850-5298 Chase Credit Card TLG Everyday Value &Chase Credit Card deceptive marketing scam

After paying off my Hess account completely, I received a check from chase credit card posing as a overage check for just over 9 dollars. My wife unwittingly cashed the check to recover the overage. She did not know she had set us up for a home appliance insurance to be charged to this credit card twice a year at $69.99 every six months. (TLG everyday value), another company from connecticut in partnership with chase credit card to facilitate the scam. At first I did not know what the 69 dollar charge was and disputed the charge as fraudulent. While on the phone with the fraud department the chase representative told me that the charges were for everyday value magazine and tried to convince me that I had made these charges. I later did a google search for "everyday value" and found this article in usacomplaints.com and with the contact information provided, I called explained the situation and discovered that we did in fact have an account with this company conveniently set up by chase credit card without our knowledge. I called the fraud dept. Back. They told me that I had to fill out some paperwork for the investigation, but I told them that I know that they knew what the charges were because it was their company (chase) that set up the account due to the hidden provisions of our cashing the overage check. Due to the fact that I thought the account had a zero balance, months went by and late fee's were accumulating and the balance was 120.00 dollars with the late charges befor I received a letter in the mail with a new bill. They were continuing to persue the lengthy fraudulent claim process while all along they knew what the charges were for. Had I not checked usacomplaints.com This battle could have dragged on for months but all the charges were dropped and thats only because I did the research and called them out on it. This is a classic example of two companies working together in a deceptive marketing campaign.
