On or around February 22nd I was contacted by Sean Chambers from Assistance Lending Group. He informed me that I was approved for a $7000 loan with 7% interest. He said all I had to do was sign the contract and Money Gram $502.86 which is the total of three payments. He said that after 6 months it would be put towards the principle. I told him that I did not have the money. He said that if I wanted it and had the money then to just let him know. On February 25th at 12:59 pm I went to my local Wal-Mart and got a Money Gram and sent it to a Kevin Auger. It cost $502.86 plus the $34.38 for the fee. I called him once I was through with the transaction as I was instructed. The next morning I called Sean to see if they got the money and to see when I would get the loan. He called me back to let me know that once they looked over my credit it was not so good so I would needed to send them another $490. He said it for insurance incase I defaulted on my loan. I hesitated but thought that we can really use the $7000 to pay off bills. He told me to do the same thing but this time it was to go to Mark Gibson. I asked why a different name and he told him that the Supervisor on duty was different today. That evening at 6:02 pm I went to my local Wal-Mart to get another Money Gram. This time it totaled $490 for the payment plus $34.38 for the fee. Again I called him once the transaction was complete. I called him the next day to see when the money would be deposited into my bank account. I had to leave a message, and I did. I called back a few more times that day and the days that followed. I called about 3 days later to hear that the phone had been disconnected. Also the website has been cancelled.
I have also placed a compaint with the BBB of Detroit, MI and the Attorney Generals Office of Michigan.
