Client list going public?...
I received a call tonight from a credit counselling agency... Not Gibson, but one located just 10 miles north of Gibson's address. The person claimed they had been contacted by one of my creditors stating that I was having problems with making timely payments and that they would like to try and help me. (where have I heard that before?) The person claimed not to know that I had been working with Gibson, but did give me the web address of this site and suggested I look to see if there was anything there about Gibson... What a surprise!
Clearly I have to find another company to work with. Probably someone local this time, but isn't it interesting that this person who called me tonight wanted to help me... Isn't it interesting that they new I was in need of some help or would be very soon.
After a few questions about how this caller got my name and office number (not one my creditors have - in fact I only started to give this number out in the past 2 weeks in email and phone messages to Gibson) it dawned on me that perhaps this was the "new and improved" Gibson Trust under another name or perhaps this was an ex Gibson employee who before leaving the office today, took a few names and numbers with him. I would like to hear from others who may have been contacted by a 3rd (or is that 4th) party to change credit counselling companies.
Like others I have had problems with missed payments, calls not returned, horrible customer service and find myself in worse shape after 2 and 1/2 years. Not once in all that time have I been late with a payment to Gibson. Gibson has frequently been late or missed payments. One creditor is currently 3 months behind in payments from Gibson and has dropped me from their program.
So... Where to from here? I plan to contact each creditor by letter telling them that I have dropped Gibson and will be trying to work with someone local. Hopefully I can get this set up quickly. Aother suggestions?
