Midland Credit Management
Charged my credit card without my permission

On Wednesday March 5th I get a call from Midland Credit Management (MCM). A man with a foriegn accent told me that I owed $300.00 in order to pay-off my credit card.

However, in order to set-up payments to pay-off my accounts he would need to charge my debit card $50.00 that day then another next week (March 14th) and one on April 7th and the last on May 7th.

However, I told him I the money (the first $50.00) would not be in the account until the following day (Thursday March 4th). He agreed to wait but told me that if I gave him my debit card number now, just to set-up the said payments, he could start collecting on those days agreed upon.

When I did all of the sudden he said, "O.K. The $25.00 charge just went through." I said, "What?" He repeated, "$25.00 just went through and you said there was no money in your account.

I was in shock at what he had done and at the same time confused and amazed that it went through. I knew my account was overdrawn! So I told him to hold on and went to look up my account on the internet.

Sure enough I found he had charged $25.00 to my account and without my permission!!! I calmly said to him, "do you know that for every transaction that goes through my account right now I will be charged $35.00 for it?

He said, "you said your account is already over drawn just pay the amount owed to the bank tomorrow. I said, but you just cost me $35.00! He just ignored me and said let's see if another one ($25.00) will go through I said don't do that!

And he said, "No let's see if $75.00 will go through. Again I said (louder), "do not do that!" He said, no it didn't go through. Finally I thought this guy is believing me and started telling him that now I am further in the hole with my bank when...

All of the sudden he says, "let's see if another $25.00 will go through. I said, "can't you see my account's overdrawn?!!!" I'm still in shock and confused and I just can't beleive he's over powering me like this I felt like he'd just violated me in some way.

(1CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away.in this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge.in rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the consumer complaints. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!
