Online Business Systems
Eats up your time and money

In September I was looking for a home based business. I came across the "landing page" for OBS. I paid for the shipping and received the "informational" CD. Somehow, I knew it was Herbalife, which was fine. While reviewing the the DVD portion, I saw my sisters old OBGYN Dr. On there, who BTW also ran for senate in my state, AND was also my older sisters Herbalife sponsor several years ago. So, now Im thinking, alright well I know for sure this is real because I know for a fact that the Dr. Is a real person (I watched him deliver 3 nephews and 1 niece) and I know he had a true involvement with Herbalife. So these things helped to ease my skeptisicm.

I get my first call from my coach (which like many other programs, doesnt really coach, but is more like coax you into giving them money). He seemed nice enough. After a couple of days of thinking about starting the business, I decided to give it a go, knowing that I would undoubtedly be putting out more money. The magic number (at that time) was $400.00. I asked repeatedly, (3 times) asked if $400.00 was all I needed to get started. The answer everytime was a resounding "yes" and I could invest more money at a later date. So, as a previous post said, they want you up and running within 72 hrs. I think they do this prevent you from really thinking about what you are getting into before they get your money. Roughly 72 hrs and $1700.00 later, Im a supervisor and ready to make money.

Now, here is where the deception begins. No one ever mentions to you that OBS' primary objective is to simply recruit more people (I had to figure that out on my own). From what I could tell, the advertising cost didnt even have anything to do with Herbalife. Its not until you invest the full amount that they actually start promoting the Herbalife product for you. Also, its never really stated that you will be spending most of your time on the phone trying to recruit people. I worked and still work, a full time job and did not have the capacity to make 30 phone calls on my two 15 min breaks and one 30 min lunch.

To make a long story short, I was pissed when I realized that the money I had put towards advertising was not even promoting my HL, so I just quit. I didnt have the time to make all of these bogus calls and quite honestly, I felt as though I was being deceptive with people. Needless to say, I learned some very valuable lessons. The main one is ask more questions and ask them the right way. If you word questions correctly, a person cant side step the answer. All they can say is, "that will be discussed later." If you hear that, you may as well walk away from the program, because all that means is more money out of your own pocket. Overall, I guess I didnt do too badly. I only have $1000.00 worth of HL sitting in my spare bedroom. I guess Ill eventually use all the product. LOL

And on a side note, its a shame that Herbalife allows the outsourcing of their product. HL is truly a great product, but if you want to get started in it, it should really only cost you around $70.00 and a lot of hard work. This is the experience I had, if you have had a better one then I am happy for you. Best of luck to everyone.
