WAMU has raised the APR on my credit card to 31.99% without my agreement. I have not been late nor over the credit limit ever. This amount is over the legal limit of interest a bank my charge which is set at 29% under a Usary Law.
When I contacted WAMU by phone they said that privacy laws prevent them from telling me why my account was singled out. When I asked for a supervisor I was hung up on four times in a row.
I was informed there is no one I can speak to about the increase and no review would be given. They claim I received a notice in September (I am writing this in November) but their own notice this month states they sent out an incorrect formula calculating the Default APR and that I should "ignore" the notice.
I will be contacting my representatives in Washington and my state in regards to the credit practives of Washington Mutual Savings and Loan.
