On 10/11 I had a check clear my account which the funds werent available until 10/12. The bank paid the check AS A COURTESY, which then made the 9 pre-authorized charges I made on my Visa check card which would have cleared but didnt because the bank honored this check. I got hit with 9 $35 fees and then if thats not bad enough my direct deposit went in and my account was still at a negative and now I am getting hit with a $7 dollar negative balance fee.

I called the bank as soon as I noticed the check had cleared and my other charges went into the negative and was told by Joni to come into the bank and they would work with me on this. So I did, talked to Jaime and he wasnt about to do anything, until I told him, I wasnt going anywhere until something was done, and that I have already talked to Joni and she said that usbank would help me. Jaime gave me 3 of my $35 fees back. The next day I still did not feel that the bank was in the right to cash the check when funds were not available then charge me all those fees, is that convinient or what? So I called the bank back and told them, their practices were in my opinion wrong and that before when I wrote a check and the money wasnt available then the check would not clear and I would have only 1 $35 fee. I also told her that I fail to see the courtesy. The only one that seemed courteous was me, I gave your bank $175 when it should have only been $35. She apologized to me and said she understood because she is a single mother. She called me back with a number for Heather and said that Heather had authorization to remove the rest of the fees. I called Heather a couple times and got her voicemail and left my message, then tried calling back after blocking my number and she answered, I told her who I was and what my problem was and all she kept telling me is that its illegal to write checks and the funds not be available and she didnt want to look at the fact that they cashed the check when they should not have done so and that all the charges were caused by them cashing that check out of courtesy. She wanted to argue and I told her that I was not going to argue with her, even though she was rude, all I needed to know is whether or not the charges were going to be reversed. She very rudely and abruptly told me NO!

I then told her, how unfortunate that was and that I would have to take this matter to the next level, The Better Business Bureau, The State of Ohio Attorney Generals Office and possibly the Media, and that this problem only gets bigger from this point, she said ok.
I have never in my entire life dealt with a bank that uses the word courtesy in place of I STOLE YOUR MONEY.
This is just one step I am taking to assure people know what they need to before making decisions on a financial institution.

Hopefully no one else gets RIPPED OFF by this bank or its counterparts.
