My grievence with this company is:
They started calling my home phone looking for my 26 yr. Old Son about a year ago. When I told them I had no idea how to locate him, because he is in the Military and had been sent to Iraq. I asked what the call was regarding but the person told me that they could not tell me. I thought the phone calls had ceased.
A week later, another phone call from the same man. I told him the same thing, my Son was in Iraq. This time we talked about the debt, he stated that he could not go into detail but would like contact information for my Son, again, I stated he was somewhere in Iraq and I had no forwarding information.
The next call came on my Cell phone number which I never gave them so apparently they looked up my records and now have information on me as well (not my debt). I told the man the same thing. He asked if I was willing to help out? I told him I would consider making payments on the account until my son got home but that I couldn't afford much, I told him I could pay $100 to $200 a month and asked them to help me by waiving future interest on the account.
I sent the company a check for $100 which they gladly accepted and cashed. A few days after they cashed the check, I got a phone call asking that I make another payment over the phone. I refused the phone payment but said that I had prepared another check to send and asked if the interest had been waived? They told me they were not willing to waive the Interest. I then refused to make anymore payments.
Since then, I have been inundated with phone calls from the company. About a week after I refused payment, a woman called and stated that I had agreed to pay the bill. I told her that I was willing to help my Son but only if the interest was waived. She told me that it was my responsibility to pay my Son's debts for him if he could not. I told her that I am only responsible for myself and my husband that my Son was a grown man.
She got very irrated with that answer and started yelling, when I yelled back and told her not to call my phone number anymore she got very beligerant, my Husband grabbed the phone and told her the conversation was over and he did not want any phone calls from the company, that the phone number they were calling belongs to him in his name only!
I get phone calls from this company at least 3 times a week. They called my house today and my husband answered and told them again not to call however, they called again tonight at around 8:00 P.M. EDT.
What do we do now? We have had our unpublished number for 20 years and do not want to change it but we may not have a choice.
I no longer have any contact with my Son. I don't know where he resides.
