I was online trying to search a web-based payday advance company when this Visa AcclaimCard window popped up. I entered my information believing it was the beginning of the payday advance offer, and there was nothing to indicate a "No Thanks" for the offer, so I assumed it was for the payday advance.
I entered the usual information that I had done previously on similar sites, not realizing that after I had entered all of my banking info, I was redirected to the site that I was initially trying to view. After I saw the debit of $159.95 on my bank statement, I was furious, especially since I incurred $170 in overdraft fees!
I tried calling the phone number on the online check that I got from my bank, and after holding for 38 minutes, a recording told me that they were unable to answer my call at that time and to call back later. I sent 2 emails after being directed to visit the website www.EDPReporting.com, was told that I would get a response in 24-48 hours. I finally got through on the telephone when I tried to call at 4:45 pm (their hours are 9-5 pacific time) and was told that someone would call me back. I want a refund immediatley and if anyone in a similar situation gets results, I would love to know how you did it, and if there is any type of legal action, I am willing to participate. Furthermore, I have never receive any type of Visa card from them.
