I have an account with Compass and only used it to deposit and withdraw funds for personal use. When I did write checks, I noticed that I began incurring NSF's even when I had posted funds at 7:30am. When I asked about this, I was advised that the bank was not "Online" and posted deposits at night and funds would appear the next day. HOWEVER, all checks are run daily and there is a "routine". All checks and withdrawels are ran before the deposits are posted! This is what I was told by their tellers and representatives.
I asked how they could hold my funds and not show money posted to my account. At the same time, they could run checks and keep charging NSF to my account. They were quite adamant about their routine and repeated their memorized phrase. "We are not an on-line bank." This is very archaic and a pain in the wallet!
