Titanium blue i hate you

I recieved a postcard in the mail that I was pre-approved for a credit card with atleast a $4,000 credit limit. There was an 800 # to call to apply for the card. I called the company, then named Liberty Benefits, and was approved for the card. The representative that processed my application told me that there was going to be a one-time fee of $75 to process the application and get my package out. He also told me that the entire package was going to take 4 weeks, but because they were debiting my account on 9/21/01; I would recieve the card before October.

First complaint: The representative lied about the processing fee. The fee was $220 with an additional $20 fee for pymt over the phone. Anybody that has done a payment over the phone knows that they would not agree to a $20 fee for anything. Second complaint: I dislike when others try to use a tragic incident as their scapegoat. After I raised hell about the processing fee not being what I was told, I was also told that because of the events of 9/11 my package was going to be pushed back till 11/20.

Because this company had lied to me about the debit amount I was determined to stay on top of my package delivery. I called them in October to verify that they were still investigating the rep that gave me the bogus figure and to check on my package status. Low and behold I was told that because of the anthrax scares that my package wasnt going to be shipped till 12/10/01.By this time the company had also changed their name to Titanium Blue.

I called this company every week because I was so upset about how I was told I couldnt get my money back and that I couldnt talk to a supervisor because they were all on the phone. I forgot to mention that everytime I called that number I had to hold on for at least an hour and I always seemed to talk to the same 2 reps no matter what time I called. December 10th came and went and I was told again that my package was going to be shipped @ the end of the month FOR SURE. I was told that they processed it on the 10th and I should have it 12/25. Correct me if I/m wrong but isnt that Xmas? I told the rep that there was no way they were doing deliveries on Xmas.

I got my package 1/12/02. There was no credit card only applications for other credit cards. I was sent a catalogue to order from w / no order forms. I called the 800 # and it was disconnected, but there was a new 800 # in my packet. I called and talked to the same rep that I always talked to and told her what I got. That is when I was told that my credit limit wasnt for a credit card but for their catalogue. You should see the obselete items in this catalogue. They have 7 pages of knives & medieval swords. The rep told me that she was going to send my the order forms I told her I wanted my money back because I can apply for credit cards myself. I dont need to pay anybody $240 to apply for credit. She told me in order to have my money refunded I would have to send a letter back from all the applications in the packet showing that I was denied by all of the companies. Needless to say, the new 800 is now disconnected.

Thank you all for this chance to vent. It doesnt stop here though I have reported this company to their cities Attorney General. I hope this has saved somebody from being ripped off.
