Midland Mortgage
Sale Postponed Without Notice After Loan Modification Denied

I had dealings with Midland, and not a happy one. I called before my first payment was going to be late due to unemployment. I kept in contact for 2 months until I obtained a job. The new job paid considerably less. I was told I needed to make more money to make my current payments. I tried unsuccessfully to have the loan modified to be affordable.

I was a year late when the government rolled out its new modification program. Midland wanted to modify my loan to 75% of my income, not the 31% the government offered. I was told there would be no modification and the house would go to sale in 3 days. I was then told that I had 10 days to move. So I moved and cancelled my insurance. They tried to add on insurance to a loan that went up for sale 3 weeks earlier. Well, they postponed the sale and did not notify me. I was told it was my job to call THEIR attorney! To this date I have not received any notification that I no longer owned my home. I also never saw it in the paper. Their attorney told me it was published in some business paper I have never heard of.

So I am angry! Where do I turn? I cannot afford an attorney. I know it was not done legally and I want my house back! It has since sold for far less than I owed. I really tried to make payments that I could afford on my new income. They did not want to help. I sent countless letters asking for a payment reduction for 3-5 years and was told no. I am single and work hard and have lost it all: the house, the credit and my sanctity! Help!
