Answers Site Deleted My Account and All My Contributions

After my first Yahoo Answers account was deleted earlier this year, I swore I would never use Yahoo Answers again. But I came across a question while searching for information on vitamins through Google, which led to someone asking for help because they were considering suicide. So I had to help. This led to me helping this woman out, and I decided I would give Yahoo Answers another chance. Giant mistake! They deleted my account after some people did not personally like what I had posted in questions and comments. Going through all that hard work just to have it ruined by Yahoo yet again did allow me to see the flaws in the service. So if you are wondering how Yahoo Answers really works, please read the information below.

Here is how Yahoo Answers really works. It is divided into these main groups of people:

(1. The Yahoo Answers Staff) These staff do not really exist in the way a person might think they do. They are "supposed" to help, but all they ever do is delete content that they personally do not like. They also delete content that other users report to them. They also ban users for life. The staff never helps; they just send out generic responses. When they delete something, they then send out a generic response. No Yahoo staff ever reads anything! They collect paychecks for just sending out pre-written responses!

(2. The Yahoo Answers Site Rules) These rules are vague at best. They can be twisted in whatever way is needed to justify a deletion. But since the staff never sends you personally written emails, they never have to explain what rules you broke, if any were broken at all. So the staff can basically do anything they want to.

(3. The Normal Users) These are just people who are trying to be helpful. These are also the people who suffer under the lack of customer care and from the "cry babies."

(4. The Cry Babies) These are users who look for things to report. You will notice them because they end up commenting on topics they are against. So animal hunters will post comments on vegan issues, the religious against the non-religious, males against females, and the list goes on. These cry baby users are also the ones who report whatever things they personally do not like. So instead of just not commenting and letting other like-minded users discuss topics, they report those posts to Yahoo. Yahoo does not even look into these conflicts or bother reading the posts; they just delete the content.

"I have literally posted questions where I cited each rule in my question to prove my question followed the rules. But Yahoo still deleted it without any explanation."

(5. The Feedback/Help Forum) This part of Yahoo Answers was set up so people could post questions, comments and suggestions about the site. Instead, it is monitored by pro-Yahoo loyalists who bash pretty much everyone who posts anything negative about Yahoo. Problems are always made to seem like they are the users' fault, not the fault of Yahoo. No help can be found here, unless you consider rude remarks a form of help. What is more pathetic about this area is that Yahoo does not delete any of those rude user comments. They will, however, delete the suggestions and comments that point out the flaws in Yahoo products and services.

So basically you set up an account to help. You spend countless hours contributing to the site, all the while having your own questions and answers reported to Yahoo behind your back. Those reports are then not read, but the content is removed anyway. One day you are sent an email telling you that something, somewhere broke some rules and that your account has been suspended. When you ask the simple question "Why?", you are insulted by being sent a generic response that offers no explanation. When you plead your case, you are sent another generic response stating that no account can be restored after it has been suspended, even though Yahoo "claims" you can plead your case to have your profile restored. Then, as a final insult, Yahoo punishes not only you but every single person who had a question that you commented on, by deleting all traces of your activity. So if you spent months making questions and comments that were helpful, all of that is for nothing! Yahoo then deletes not only all of your questions but also all of the questions you helped answer. If you posted comments on 1000 questions, all 1000 will be deleted!

So Yahoo Answers is so flawed that they punish 1000 other users just because those users found you to be the most helpful. How messed up is that?!

So in the end, Yahoo Answers is not helpful. It is just a mix of questions and comments that the Yahoo employees have not yet gotten around to deleting.
