This information is specifically for customers who are planning to use Yahoo for paid business web hosting. Yahoo is a good candidate for business web hosting, but they never tell you certain things in advance, before you pay them for hosting. Things will be frustrating to you later.
The most important problem is that even with paid business hosting, they force the customers on the website to create a Yahoo ID for every business user (who already has the same domain).
For example, say you have hosted a domain "xxx.com" at Yahoo and you want 40 users (like [email protected]) with e-mail accounts for your company. Yahoo will force you to create a Yahoo ID (whether you like it or not) for each and every one of the user e-mail accounts. Then you have to use the Yahoo account for most of the administrative purposes and also have to put in all your personal details with the Yahoo account. It is frustrating for many to maintain a Yahoo account for no reason when they should be using only their own business domain account.
I have not seen any domain hosting company trick people like this.
Yahoo is trying to get valid e-mail addresses and personal details of such business users to serve its own purpose. Demeaning!
So before you host web services with Yahoo for your company, make sure you confirm whether they have changed their policy about such unnecessary Yahoo e-mail accounts.
I have heard that Yahoo did such a thing to GeoCities users. But at least that is a free service. Business users are paying for theirs.
