This company, which claims to be a travel wholesaler, advertised a "one day only" deal to Temptation Resort in Cancun.
Sixty days after my credit card was charged, I found numerous complaints in an online forum and called the resort. While the resort had the date reserved, Fun and Sun had not paid the resort for the reservation, so I had no confirmation from the hotel.
I called Fun and Sun, and found exactly what dozens were reporting online: Fun and Sun claimed they "no longer had a contract" with that resort and said they could either refund my money, charge me double to go to that resort, or put me in a different resort with a timeshare pitch requirement. The manager claimed the resort had "just" rejected all of Fun and Sun's reservations" and they were "in the process of notifying" the people involved. (Online posters reported they weren't informed they had no reservation and found out themselves by calling the resort directly just days before their scheduled arrival.)
This was a blatant lie. Hotel representatives confirmed that there was no expired contract and that they still had a large number of reservations on their books that Fun and Sun hadn't paid for. They had no clue Fun and Sun is diverting their reservations to other hotels.
Do not book through this company. While they did refund my money as promised, their tactics are clearly fraudulent and unethical. Note their website: they use Temptation Resort's name, even though they are not affiliated in any way with the resort.in addition, their website says, "One day only sale!" every day. There's a "countdown" on the side that hasn't changed in 2 months!
I was fooled because, on the phone, their representatives seemed competent and professional. Even though warning bells rang at certain points (the website not changing, my first reservation coming through to the wrong resort, and inconsistency regarding the timeshare presentation requirement), the reps were able to explain everything smoothly.
