My husband and I went to a short presentation at a Sacramento Hotel in June after receiving a postcard in the mail saying we could get a free cruise. We went to the presentation where they were selling vacations, but we did not buy, just received a voucher for a free cruise and air travel from EAGLES CHOICE in Woodbridge, VA.
We had to send in an "activation fee" of $98 for the "free" cruise, and $70 for the "free" airline tickets. We did send in the money, and a few weeks later we received an envelope with four more voucher certificates all requiring more money for activation fees. Now they wanted $59 more per person for the cruise, which I was told that then they would require $100 deposit per person that would be used for the taxes and docs fees for the cruise which was about $179 to $259 per person. So, all in all, this free cruise would cost us about $700!
I called several times to try and get info on receiving a refund on my money. I did a little research on the numbers that I had for Eagles Choice and found out that they are with Fun Time Vacations, too. They don't have good reviews at all. I googled the number I had for Eagles Choice, and it came up on Craigslist that they posted an ad for needed someone to take care of their elderly mom, and had the same number I had for Eagles Choice as a call back number!!! No wonder when I called with my blocked number they would sometimes answered the phone by simply saying hello.
This is not a professional office. They also would answer the phone by saying Travel Center. When I asked if this was Eagles Choice, they said they answered the phones for them... Not sure what that means.
I was told that I could get my refund, just to email Donna at Fun Time Vacations, and I did, and it took her a long time to get back to me, then when she finally did, she sent me back to the person who told me to email her in the first place.
Right now they told me Oh you want a refund, well did you send in the package we send... Which I told them no, you didn't tell me to. I am sending them their package, hoping for a refund, but I doubt I will get it back.
I just want people to be aware and not send them anything. They are definitely scamming people out of their money
