About three months ago the landlords decided to change the management of the building for unknown reasons. One day I get a knock on my door and some young girl with a child says that she needs to check some keys on my door. Totally confused about what she was talking about I tell her that she has the wrong apartment. She seems to get offended and says, "I'm your new manager and we are cleaning the cabinet thats why I need to check which of these keys work on your locks." Again, confused, I ask her what happened to the other manager and she seemed to get even more irritated and said, "look I'll give you the notice as soon as I'm done checking the locks, for now I need to check these keys!" I let her go ahead and I let her know that I was never told there was a new manager.
A couple of minutes later she brings some paper saying change in management and doesn't even wait for me to say a word and she shoves the paper in my face! She was looking away while she did that so I wasn't sure whether she had done that on purpose or not so I let it go for the second time.
Recently, the building has been having problems with the control of the water. There are some nights where there is no hot water and the manager is no where to be found so anyone who showers in the morning must shower with freezing water. The first night I noticed there was no hot water I kept calling her cell and she turned it off then I knocked on her door and she got upset for waking her up for something that is related to "maintenance". Later, there was no water at all for more than 6hours on a Sunday and several tenants knocked on her door and claimed there was no answer. One man said he saw her run out of her apartment and drive off on her car!
I called the landlord to report some extremely loud music happening in the apartment next to me between the time of 11pm-4am because she would ignore everytime I said something to her... She would just walk away and told me she wasn't the landlord. Apparently the landlord got a talk with her and if before she was rude she is now way beyond being rude. She complains about every single thing I do.
First she told me that everytime I had a visit I had to ask her for permission first. Which is ridiculous! I don't have any visitors but if I did it would be absurd to ask for permission!
Second she was complaining that my shower was leaking and she had to go in to check my apartment out. Which was also ridiculous because lately she's come up with the silliest excuses to come inside my apartment.
I'm afraid that she comes inside my apartment and steel something given she has a master copy! I actually saw her once going into an apartment where I am almost sure there was no one there. Although I think she hasn't come inside mine since I have a puppy that looks evil.
About a week ago she sent the repair guy to knock on my apartment. She was with him at that time and he asked if I was using the water because he was going to fix the plumming and no water could be leaking out of the faucets. I told him not to worry since I was not going to use the water at all. He chicked out and said okay thanks! I closed the door and she knocked, this time saying she had to talk to me about my dog. She said literally, "it is illegal to have dogs in apartments you can't have one in there." I didn't see that coming so I said, "What?" and she prompted with, "the landlord does not want dogs in the apartment because its illegal." I say, "I'd like to speak with him because I've always had my puppy—." She cuts me off and says, "No! You have to listen to me! I'm telling you that you can't! If you dont listen to me I'm going to evict you because its illegal!" She totally scared me when she said she would evict me for such a reason! I said, "even more reason I'd like to speak with him because—" and she walks away from me. I was appalled since other people had told me she would walk away on them so I said, "you know, you are a very rude lady" and I closed my door. I was livid and I couldn't stop shaking from the anger. As I was ready to make a call to the landlord the manager comes back and knocks. I open the door just slightly thinking this lady will be pissed and she surprises me with another paper being shoved in my face! She points at some line in the paper and says, "READ THIS! CAN YOU READ??!" I was soo mad and shocked I didn't say a word and she probably got the idea that I was scared and continued screaming. I grabbed the paper from her hand and was shutting the door closed when I noticed she was pushing the door so I turn back to look at her and she tells me, "I want you to read it in front of me!" I was upset and shocked and the only words that came out from my mouth were "NO!" and I pushed the door close.
I'm always busy working and I have no time to socialize with anyone in the building hence I don't have a clue of what happens most of the time in the building but from what I've noticed. She's been rude to a couple of other tenants. The building also comes with pool, sauna, and gym room and I've noticed her daughter who was the girl that I met with the master keys brings her boyfriend and locks herself in the gym for hours and basically no one can use it.
It is upsetting because they have also raised the rent for all the apartments and the manager is just useless. She walks away when you need something or goes off on the tenants. She also refuses to give me a receipt for paid rents! I don't know what I'm going to do. Probably move.
