On 7/14/03 while I was browsing websites I mistakenly entered a danger zone — a web site encouraging solicitation of a "free" credit report. I tried to exit this site but was able, without being ensnared and attacked! Later that evening I visited my bank website where I reviewed bank activity for the day. I came across a charge of $79.95 from CIC Service Monitor about which I knew nothing.
My bank recently merged with another company; I thought the charge may have been the results of the merge.
On 7/15/03 When I brought this information to my bank president she stated that the charge had not resulted from the merge but maybe I had purchased something. With that in mind I returned to the website to investigate.
On arrival, I found a listing of five credit services! I am not certain which of these agencies performed the credit report on me, but intend to get my money back! I've been scammed!
Thank you for your time and attention in addressing this grave concern!
Sincerely
