I contacted Swazi Bengals to purchase a kitten and was told before I purchased the kitten that it would come with a health guarantee. Registration papers would be provided when I spayed the cat. When I met Mary Masters to purchase the kitten, she did not bring any papers whatsoever. She did not bring the health guarantee papers, vaccination records, etc. Since I had traveled over 4 hours to get there, I paid her $300 and took the kitten home. This was on January 11th.
I wanted the health guarantee, so I emailed them several times and finally they sent me some papers over a month later and I received it on February 13th. The health guarantee turned out to be a contract they wanted signed. A contract was never mentioned before or at the time of the sale. Just a spay contract was mentioned before the sale and after spay they would provide the registration papers.
The contract they mailed had pages of demands that they wanted with a couple of sentences about the health guarantee. First the contract had a different date of birth for the kitten on it than they originally told me and then the contract said I was to have the kitten examined by a vet within the first 72 hours. Since they did not provide me with these papers at time of purchase and NEVER mentioned having the kitten examined before, I would not sign it. They also wanted me to sign this contract stating I would pay any legal fees in upholding the contract regardless of who won the case (if there ever was one). And a few other things I did not agree with. We sent a few emails back and forth and they won't budge on changing a few things with their contract.
Fine we both do not agree on the contract I could have done without the health guarantee. I don't want to deal with these people ever again anyway. However I did want the registration papers. I emailed them on February 26th and asked them if they would provide the registration papers when I got the cat spayed. She said she would not since I will not sign their contract. (I got the cat spayed on Feb. 19th.)
Since the contract was never mentioned before the sale or at the time of the sale, I don't feel like I should be required to sign it to get the registration papers. The only thing they said about the registration papers is that I have to have her spayed before receiving them. I agreed and paid for a purebred, registered kitten and she will not provide registration papers. I was also told I would receive a health guarantee and they won't provide one unless their contract' is signed. She now has refused to talk to me anymore.
During the process of trying to get the registration papers I contacted various agencies like the BBB, Attorney General's Office and TIBCS. Mary came up with lies to try and to make me look like I'm the wrong person in this matter. She sold me a kitten which she promised registration papers for when the kitten was spayed. I had the kitten spayed and she did not and will not provide the registration papers. All I have ever wanted is for her to do the right thing and provide the registration papers for the cat she sold me. That's not too hard nor is it too much to ask. This could have been resolved months ago if she just did what she said she would do and kept her word - instead she lies up and down about pretty much everything. She has said she won't provide me the registration papers so how about refunding my money then - I will also accept that as a resolution. She is a liar and I warn anyone thinking about buying a cat from her to think again - save yourself the trouble, money and headache. Buy from a reputable breeder or go to a shelter.
