R & J Furniture Sales, Inc. HTI M&T Bank Promised a grant in the amount of 39000 after I paid fees w/check they sent

This one almost had me fooled! I got a letter with Official letter head for a company called Homestyle Trust, Inc. Stating that a Home Improvement Grant was approved in category "A" of the North American Grant paid to qulified and randomly selected applicatns across the U.S.A. And Canada. There was a check (a real one) for 4970.00 drawn off of M&T Bank for a company called Factory Wherhouse Sales - a Division of R&J Furniture Sales, Inc in Buffalo, NY 14207. I read and re-read the letter - it looks very real - except that the math didn't add up - it claims the 4970.00 check was deducted from the grant total - of 39000, leaving 35,850. That was my first clue.

Then I googled M&T bank to see if it was a real bank... And it was - their web site is http://www.mandtbank.com/. I did a yellowpages search on the company - but the address didn't match (clue #2) I also did an anywho check on the address - and it didn't exist, though the USPS didn't deny its existance. I then went to snopes.com and couldn't find it, so I came here and there it was. Glad I did my homework!

I just wanted to let everyone know this is a hoax and don't fall for it!
