I hired Amanda of Amanda's pet sitting to sit my dogs for overnight stays for 3 days/nights as well as 2 day visits while I went on a short vacation. I met her and she seemed very caring and pleasant but it was all a front for the con artist and animal abuser she really is.
She showed up at my home the first day long enough to pick up the check never to return to care for my dogs as she was hired to do. I spoke with her 5pm that afternoon and she told me she was going to my house sooner than expected because she did not have any other pets to care for that day. She never showed up or stayed that night or any other day or night.
Luckily my neighbor noticed that she was not coming or staying at my house and was able to gain access through the back door that she left unlocked and feed, water and care for my dogs.
I made MANY phone calls to her, which she never answered or returned. After returning to town and doing in depth research on her I found that she had done this to several other people (the number is unknown). She has one other complaint Complaint and multiple BBB complaints.
Since she has my house key and mailbox key I now have to change my locks and mailbox lock. Not to mention the damage to my carpet because the dogs were not let outside to go to poop and pee.
I have done the following so far: filed a "Theft by Fraud" report against her, filed a complaint with the BBB, filed a complaint with Sheriff Joe's Animal Cruelty department, sent complaint emails or calls to any directory I have found her listed on and my attorney will be sending her a letter. Per my attorneys advice I will also notify Animal Care & Control of her for animal neglect.in addition I will probably be calling the local TV stations like 5 On Your Side to see if there is interest in doing a piece on her.
If it had not been for my neighbor my dogs would have been left with no food or water for almost 4 days and I would have surely had to take them to the vet for de-hydration at least.
This girl needs to be stopped before she neglects, causes harm or kills someone's pet!
