I purchased a FREE Grant Resource Center CD which repeatedly used the word FREE, for the small price of $2.99. I read through each page of the web site and could not see a single detail about monthly fees or hidden charges. I received immediate access to the web site, then recieved a CD in the mail in about 5 days. There were 2 separate charges on my bank account for $1.00, then $1.99 which was expected.
This morning there was a charge for $39.95 from the Grant Resource Center. My husband and I were enraged since it caused the bank to give us an overdraft fee of $35.00 on our business account. We obviously were not expecting this or any other charge relating to the Grants. I did not then, nor do I want now to receive any monthly service from them as I was only interested in what they so boldly and blatantly advertised. FREE Grant Master!
I was able to thwart any future debits to our account by these other bogus grant companies by calling at 7 am this morning and having the CSR cancel these accounts however she said she was unable to cancel my Grant Master charge of $39.95 because it was in pending. Another $39.95 will be charged each month if I don't cancel again. I am livid at their subterfuge and bait and switch techniques for hooking a customer then kicking us while were down. We are looking for grant money to try and save our home like so many other Americans, and the last thing we need is someone stealing out of our bank accounts unbeknownst to us. Help!!!
