Do not buy magazines from door-t0-door sales people!
My son, who is full-time Army stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, was approached by a young man selling magazine subscriptions. I was in Kentucky after having driven his new wife across country to be with him. He purchased 4 magazines with a total of $200. The guy told him that his purchase put him over the top for his European trip. YAY! Well, when my daughter-in-law and I got back to their apartment my son and this scam-artist went for a walk. My son paid him in cash because he was told told that the "gentleman" could not do a credit card.in hind sight that's probably a good idea because then that piece of garbage would have my son's cc # and he would probably have been taken for much more. I looked up the prices for the 4 magazines that he purchased and, had he purchased them on-line he would have spent no more than $80. Also, all of the magazines that people purchase from them have on-line editions. I have filed with the BBB and am hoping to be able to make this lesson less expensive for him. Lessons learned!
