Mr. Wallace was met Oct 5 after the hurricane Irene came through and took up my roof. Mr. Wallace telling us that he was an experience roofer and had done this kind of work for many years. We sign him up as our contractor for this job. Now mind you, he required 3800.00 of his fee up front before he get started on the work. This was for the material cost and the rest would be paid to him after he finished the work. We had no problem with this. He said that he was a license contractor.in the first part of the month of Feb, Mr. Wallace came to us with a good deal so he say that he would do our sliding and our kitchen floor for addition 3500.00. This money was to be paid now and we was to go on his word that he would do this for us. Here it is Feb and no shingles has been deliver to our house. And he is in here talking about addition 3500. This was on Feb 3. We thought about it and call Mr. Wallace and said that we would have to have some kind of collateral in order to do this. Because we was taking a great risk of giving him all of the money and we don't have one shingle here. After numerous times of trying to contact Mr. Wallace after his failure of try to get more more money out of us. About when will he be getting to our roof or just return our money to us because now we see that we were about to lose our money. After a period of about two weeks was that Mr. Wallace came out to our house on Feb 21-23 and may had put in about a total of 14 hrs in these three day period. Left my roof uncovered, did not replace one shingles back. And what made that so bad was that he knew it was a hurricane or tornado watch out in the news for Friday and he did not cover my roof up with a tarp! He just came out that morning to put felt over the ridge of the roof and left it. Then he call my husband and told him that he could not find any tarp no where to cover our roof with. Knew that it was going to rain and boy did it. My living room was flood with water. It was not until my brother came over and help me. My brother went up on the roof and lay bundles of shingles on the uncover felt that was blowed up by the wind. I call Mr. Wallace to inform him that it was raining in my living room. Then he came about 30 min. Later with 2 tarp and telling me that he would take care of any damage in my house. This man prove to be unrealiable, a liar and a con artist. Do your home work. Check out this guy before you hire him. Warn all of your friend. Check him out in the Better Business Bureau. The one good thing that came out of this was we got the shingles that we pay for and hire a true licensed roofer to do the job in one day.
