Wow, reading a lot of scams’ stories out there and feel I should share my own…
Through Match.com, I was contacted by a guy named Chris Newton. His profile soon disappeared. He claimed to be from California, USA. A lot of red flags appeared very quickly.
1. He claimed to love me within days of emailing and Yahoo messaging. 2. He did not seem to know much about basic north American culture. 3. Spelling mistakes, OMG! 4.international phone number 233-260-770-170 (ps: 233 is country code for Ghana, West Africa).
After one week of ‘I love you so much’, he started asking for money, different reasons, different crisis, I kept avoiding him. Once he realized there was no hope, he started being verbally abusive, so much for ‘undying love’ lol.
When he asked me to send money via Western Union or Moneygrams, he gave me the following coordinates: Charles Osae, 12 Kasoa Road, Accra, 00233 Ghana.
