Three weeks ago, two girls came to my door selling magazine subscriptions to help them travel overseas, to Europe. After listening to their ambitions to visit several historical sites, I was a bit sketical.
They showed me a copy of the better business bereau report and even took me the website. This was all very convincing and being a student myself, I decided it was towards a good cause for their education.
They informed me that the minimum purchase was two magazines and they asked for my credit card. I declined and was firmly assured that it was only to ensure that I wanted the magazines. Again, I did not want to give my card. The second girl also assured me that I would recieve the magazines in the mail and I can make installed payments it would not come out of my checking account.
Today, I find that it has come out of my checking account with an additional insufficient fund fees. I keep up with my limited funds and had not included this excess amount to clean me out for the next two weeks. Not only did I pay additional amounts for the magazine but now I have under ten dollars in my account for the next two weeks...
I am very dissappointed because I was lied to for these purchases and because of the three day refund policy, it gave me no time to repond or cancel. Also, I was given a bogus phone number, which I called several times and only recieved a busy signal. I got the actual phone number through the internet which I searched for myself. All I want is my money back.
