I was contacted by Well Kneaded Massage via email. They were in need of massage therapists to provide chair massage service for an event on 29 June and also on 4 July. I accepted both assignments. I provided service at the SHRM Convention in New Orleans, LA on 29 June. Due to a family emergency, I was unable to provide service on 4 July. I did not call or show up for the second appointment. When I contacted Well Kneaded Massage representative, Selina, she was clearly very upset that I did not provide the second service. I asked if I would receive my payment for the service provided on 29 June. She assured me that I would receive payment once they received my W-9, which she said she had not received. I had submitted this form by fax previously. I should have been paid on 5 July. Since my W-9 was not received, I would have to wait for the 20 July pay date to receive payment. I submitted the W-9 by fax to twice to 818-230-5175 after my communication with Selina. I received confirmation of transmission on both occasions. I waited for payment but nothing came. I contacted Selina at Well Kneaded Massage by email and I called the company phone number and left a message on 28 July and again on 30 July and got no response or call back. At this point I fear that my calls are being ignored and I that will not be paid for my work.
