I faxed a copy of my Bar Association complaint letter to Sean Alan Rutledge himself! What a jerk! He called from a number listed as 949-943-5501 with a forceful and bully tone to his voice. The only thing I can compare it to was when I had taken a car back to the used car salesman and the car salesman tried to bully me and intimidate me. Listen, I have run a prominent business here in San Jose for over 20 years and have serviced over 1 million customers face to face, and my company has an A rating for customer service.in that time, I have used very well known attorneys and I have never experienced one like Sean.
In my opinion, Sean sounded disgruntled and arrogant. He treated me like he had my money and all the authority and he could care less how he spoke to me. This guy is a piece of work!
If there are any attorneys out there who know him, they are probably laughing right now. No disrespect meant, but this guy is a real bozo! I could not imagine someone that appeared to be so emotionally out of control representing me, not even for something as simple as a speeding ticket!
All the attorneys I have used in the past have shown such professional attitudes and self control; true class acts. I could hardly believe this guy was an attorney. However, according to the Bar Association, he has been an attorney for about a year or so. I am so suspicious of this guy as well as Untied Law Group Inc. He sounded very inexperienced. Granted, I am used to talking to higher end attorneys and am used to a little more professional attitude.
I remember talking to the head of the firm of Bullivant/Houser/Bailey, and the difference between them and this guy is night and day. Talking to Sean was like talking to a 20 year old kid who is cocky and lacked self control. I could not believe this was my attorney! I would not pay this guy to fight himself out of a paper bag much less a traffic ticket now that I have spoken with him. Now I understand why they usually do not let you talk to him. He is a potential disaster! I could not believe that he represented himself in this manner, therefore never will he represent me. He is a loose canon and a potential liability! Totally unprofessional! To me it sounded like his first day on the job. This guy did not sound good enough to run a McDonald's. Something is very wrong here.
Why is this guy not interested in cleaning up his company's reputation? Is it because it is not going to be there long? You would think that this guy would have called and said, "I am very sorry and how can we make it better." I was actually going to give the guy a chance to make it right. But rather than right the situation, he just interrupted me and spoke in a bully like tone and said, "What is it that you want?!" and "Do you want a refund?!". I was so taken aback by his tone that my response went like so, "Yah Sean. I want a refund." Then his tone continued and he replied with, "Fine. Minus my fee!" I responded with, "No I do not think so Sean. I want every dime of my money back because your company has not done anything but, 1) Spell my name wrong on the legal papers you sent to my lender, 2) put the wrong number for my lender and myself to call you at on the bottom of your letter head and 3) take two weeks to return my phone calls." In which he sternly said that they moved and maybe some of the lines were crossed during that time but that the representative always calls back. He seemed to be in complete denial about all of your complaints here of the same nature.in fact, he seemed to care less. He contradicted himself, all in the same sentence.
I asked him, "Why should that be my problem? Your company solicited me telling me that you had the staff to facilitate it. Now you are telling me that the demand is so much that you had to hire more people. So basically you sold me a seat that was not available." He then got irrate and yelled, "FINE! THEN YOU DO NOT GET ANY REFUND!" And proceeded to hang up the phone. I was in such disbelief that I started laughing at how ridiculous he sounded. If he had righted the situation, I still would have used him to represent me. But what a bozo!
He thinks he is more powerful than all of us now that he has his money with his statement of, "THEN YOU DON'T GET ANY REFUND!!!". Maybe he talks down to us because we are all victims of the current housing crisis? Maybe he thinks he is better than us? Well just maybe. I thought to myself, "Who does this guy think he is?" It was then that I realized that I do not need to make this guy miserable... He already is! He may be a good or bad attorney, but he sounded like a miserable human being. Maybe he needs a vacation. He sounded over cooked. He should be able to afford it since he has all of our money. I really think United Law Group was potentially created to exploit those of us hurt by the housing crisis. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would suggest that anyone having problems just report Sean Alan Rutledge and United Law Group to the Bar Association. It is really easy to do. You just go to http://www.calbar.ca. Gov/state/calbar/calbar_home. Jsp. To file your complaint. It seemed to be the only thing that bothered him.
I will keep you all posted here if I hear anything further from Sean Alan Rutledge. I would suggest he makes an apology and makes this right. Because, his rude phone call to me today only made me more determined to make sure that I warn people about what happened to me with United Law Group Inc... Kind of unrelated, but does anyone realize how much lawyer and liar sound alike?
