CIC Credit Report was advertised in the web as a free service, however after requesting the SSN they further asked for a credit card number to validate the request. But I ended beng charged $79,95 for a service they never provided. Although their published toll free number, I subsequently found out does not service Puerto Rico.
The government should right laws that prohibit ripoff companies from advertising services they do not provide and consumers should be able to recover their losses. Companies like CIC Credit Monitor practically end charging naive consumer millions of dollar for services they never provide.
