Let me start off by saying that I was on craigslist when I found this job, so of course I knew that I had to watch out for scams, but being a 19 year old single mother and jobless I really don't have the gas, money, or time to be wasting but when I found this one under human resources I thought it sounded legitimate so I sent in my resume. When I got on my email a couple hours later I had a reply from them that said
Hi %,
I do have time tomorrow (Monday) to meet with you, if you would call in the morning we can schedule a time that will work for both of us. We get in around 9:00am.
I will be in a meeting first thing, but will have someone taking my calls and she will have my schedule for the day. I believe I will have time midmorning and into the afternoon. Nonethless call the office and we'll get it worked out.
If you do set an appointment please make sure you won't have any problems showing as my schedule will be tight. Also please bring in a hard copy of your resume.

So of course I called first thing Monday morning and a man answered I asked if I could talk to Sarah and he said that she was in meeting but he could help me so I told him that I had received an email to call to schedule a interview for today and he said that anytime would work so I said 12:30, and when we got off the phone I decided to do some research on the company so I could be prepared for my interview in a couple hours..
When I got on google and typed in the address a bunch of sites popped up discussing the company, so I started reading, and needless to say I did not like what I was reading, they went on to say that his company was a scam, and that I would be selling perfume and be making commission and that this WAS NOT a management position.
I then decided that I would need to call the company and let them know that I would not be coming to the interview. When I did a man answered and I did not catch his name but man was he bubbly!!! I said Im not sure if you are the man I spoke to earlier but I was calling to cancel my interview that I thought it would be in my best interest he said no I am not that guy I just got in, and then I proceeded to ask my why I wanted to cancel my interview I told him that I decided to do some research before my interview to be more prepared and when I did that I read nothing but bad things, like how they were a scam, and that I would be selling perfume and this was not a management position, and my paycheck was based off commission.
He then told me that he was offended by what I was saying and that that would be like him calling me a child molester, that was when it was enough for me so I asked him if he was the owner and he told me no Im a manager, so I said ok can I talk to the owner and he told me that he was in a meeting so I asked when would be a better time for me to call back to talk to him. He said he was busy all day but was open between 2pm and 3 pm. I said ok thank you and hung up.
Unfortunitely I did not get the mans name nor the owners name so I did not call back, I figured that would be a waste of time anyways, But my point is be careful and to do research before you go.
