Us Marketing Alliance
Cydor Marketing company claiming to have in office administration trying to insult resume to get you to door to door with false promises

First let me explain a bit about myself. I am a self proclaimed successful business woman in the marketing world. I have spent many years conducting execution plans, signing huge corporate giants, and managing an office. I relocated to Rancho Cucamonga, Ca and soon found the drive to the office in Los Angeles just was not working in this time of rising gas prices. I still am with this company but will be leaving in less than a month.in the mean time I have been on a vigorous job search to find something just as good, or better.

I was exhausted on this job search, (mostly online) due to all the spam and scams. It has made things extremely difficult. I have been extremely picky. My resume was posting in a pool for employers to match me with. I received a call about 2 weeks ago from a girl named Courtney saying that I was perfect for their office in Rancho Cucamonga, ca. Still hesitant due to past events I started asking direct questions.
"What exactly is this position title?"
"It is for our Account Manager."
"Is this an in-office job?"
"Yes, here in Rancho."
"Is there sales to this job."
"No just managing out accounts and keeping our clients happy."
"Okay how many positions are you filling (just to make sure it was not some wide job search)?"
"Only one, just right here in our office."
"Okay and what is your company. I do not recall submitting my resume."
"It is US Marketing Alliance, position for Account Manager pay start at 75k a year."
"Well everything sounds good as long as its not a sales scam job, they are everywhere right now."
"I know how you feel no way not here. Can you make it tomorrow."

The anticipation built as it is hard to find jobs right now. I then found myself feeling a little angry at myself for being such a scrooge about finding a job and there must be some good companies out there.

I am on my way to the Interview and I am on the internet of my phone and I type in the company name as I wait in traffic just to impress the Office manager. First thing that pops up a Rip Off report from a man named Brent. This report details a horrible interview, the lies, scams and rip off of innocent people. I get a horrible feeling and I feel like I was completely lied to, but since a minute away I told myself maybe he had a bad experience and It would work out for me. I mean I did not apply for sales and Courtney reassured me it was not.

I walk in the building 15 minutes before my interview on time pen in hand. Walk in to see 3 people sitting in a reception room lined with ugly chairs. I would say about 12 chairs. Im thinking this is supposed to be a professional Marketing office dealing with corporate giants and they have a reception room like this? I see the looks in the other applicants eyes and they look like they all know they are getting scammed but they were to stuck to leave.

I walk up to the desk and introduce myself and the receptionist is named Rachel. I give her my information and notice a binder the size of 8 text books labeled new hire on the side and I thinking I am such a sucker. I sit in the room and think about leaving till the extremely unprofessional receptionist is complimenting my outfit, asking what I am doing for the weekend, if I have ever been out of the country and an assortment questions to kill the time.

Little by little a man which I never got his name because he was to unprofessional to know proper etiquette is bringing back these professional applicants. Then a woman would come out and bring back someone. Each time the woman would say vulgar things and almost insult everyones professionalism. I noticed when the interviews were finished people would walk out angry and the interviewers would right the number 110 on ones they did not like and talk in code.

More people come in by this time i have been there for 45 minutes. They keep calling people in front of me and the receptionist explains its because there is a method of doing things and not to worry. I ask her why they need a new Account manager she says that their old one had an office in Northern California and they left up there. She also says they had only been interviewing for 2 days.

Believe it or not no exaggeration I am there for over an hour people flowing in and me getting antzy and angry. Yes I know, why didn't I just leave. Maybe it has to do with being stubborn. Finally an hour and a half later I get called back with the man. He sits me down in his office looks at my resume. Not very impressed and says he thinks I am great enough to have my own office, forget about Account manager. I let him know before he even says anything that I am not going to go through a door to door training for anything and if he thinks I am then pretty much he is crazy.

He starts ranting about the method of this company. They are so successful because everyone goes through the same training, because hey, how can you manage someone and guide them if you yourself have not done the same thing. I explained to him that most these people in his office today have put time in training somewhere else. With masters and bachelors degrees and he really should not under mind people who are qualified for the position.

He does not get it. He disregards everything I am saying and at this point I have no respect for his lies. I tell him that I am not going door to door for him with a false promise of having my own office someday, (If it happens which it wont) just so I can lie to other people. I tell him I came here for an account manager position and I want the interview for that. He explains there really is not one open.

I ask him how on earth is he running a marketing business without one and what the other office girls titles are? He says they all put in there time door to door. I say how come they are not running there own office then. He simply states they are not qualified enough and they did not finish the training. I continue to question him till he says."%, I personally think that you are in a point at your life where you do not know what you want."

I am sure you can figure out what happens next. Very professionally under mind him and let him know that he should be ashamed for running a business like that and wasting peoples time and money. That he himself does not know how to run an office and that I would let people know what he was doing there. He looked shocked as I grabbed my things and stood up. He continued to laugh saying he hopes I can figure my life out and to maybe try to work for things as not everything is going to be handed to me.

He tells me to call him when i figure my life out. I walk out of the office and make a small scene for the rest of the interviewees to see.

I told you about myself so you would have an idea that I do have my life together. But the point is I am making is that learn from my mistake. Do your research, follow up. Because you really can not give people the benefit of the doubt anymore. There is decent jobs in marketing and administration out there as I have had some wonderful experience else where. Just more so wanted to give a different perspective of how these people really can make someone feel and to stay strong in the job search and not settle for some waste of time job. Best of luck and if you see the short man (which you really should not waste your time there) ask him if he has figured out his job improvement skills yet.
