I received a letter stating that I was a winner of $3,995.75 for the Second Quarter of 2008 Sweepstakes drawing. All participants were selected through a compterized ballot system drawn from Readers Digest, Publishers Clearing House, Online Sweepstakes, Internet Games, etc.
They inclosed a check which they say "Covers both the administrative taxes and Clearance fees of your winnings. For authorization and activation of this check, please contact your agent Cindy Tucker immediately at 1-514 692 8013. Your winnings must be claimed not later than November 12."
It gave me a claim number to use.
When I tried to call the number, it went straight to a voicemail that said it was full and could no longer take messages.
I looked it up on the internet and come up with a parent company that sells motorcoaches in Coburg, OR.
The check looks real, so why have to call a number to activate it? Why not just be able to cash it or deposit it into a persons personal account???
