Similar to Brian's experience... Seriously outdated contracts and school districts who had no idea what I was talking about. The best part in some cases was the fact that the contract the school had wasn't even with "Student Relations" but with "Students of America;" another complaint red flag run by our good ol' friends. I had one merchant who still had a copy of not only their receipt from Students of America, but a previous version of a school folder which another salesperson had left with them several years before. Not surprisingly, it was IDENTICAL in every way to one of the samples I had with me. Nothing like setting me up to look not only like an asshole but a con artist on top of it. I heard from them as well as several other merchants in the same town that none of them had ever received copies of the new folders in the past, and one merchant even had a kid who WENT to the school who never saw these folders in the school... Period. And in the face of all of this righteous skepticism from merchants, just like everyone else I was told to just keep on selling. Unfortunately for the "company, " I had a conscience. Got out of that deal as quickly as I could and never saw a cent for it. At that point I didn't care though, it was better than being associated with scam artists.
