I was born into a scientology family. My parents actually met there in '79 and were married there six months later. They had three children. My parents were scientologists for a little over 20 years. I actually grew up at the Org in DC and even went to Chesapeake School for a few years. I did the Purification Run Down when I was 13 and the Personal Values and Integrety course when I was 17 (btw, this one is all about chakras, only they don't call them chakras, just rip the concepts and make it their own). At least I was still able to think for myself (unlike my mom who has never been able to do that).
In 2001 my father killed himself after a psychotic break which I believe was engineered by someone at Flag or just by shear negligence at Flag. You know, when you are messing with people's psyche, you kinda have to know what you are doing, mistakes can be fatal.
Too many details to include, but I will say this, when I was a young girl, I decided to search out some answers for myself. What I found out is that most of the "original" ideas of L Ron Hubbard are actually riped right from eastern philosophy. He changed some of the wording and copyrighted it. It's absolutely despicable what they are doing to people out there. Some think they are getting help (like my pops) only to be let down after investing an outrageous amount of money (for my parents over 6 figures).
As a child growing up my parents were always stressed out about money, which Scientology claims to be able to correct the self limiting beliefs that are keeping you from prosperity. It's like a carrot infront of the horse "you're almost there, just a little more to go. Oh just a little bit more, just a little bit more..." on and on and on until you're dead.: (Poor guy, he really had good intentions, he was tangled up with the wrong people.
