On Friday (8/24), around noon, I went to the Rosticceria at Eataly for a prime rib sandwich. The man working the cash register at that time is possibly the rudest individual I have ever encountered. The person in front of me had clearly never been there before and politely asked several questions about where to purchase beverages. The cashier was visibly annoyed with this questioning and at one point jerked his hand around the side and said "God, it's over there!" and looked at me in total annoyance at having had to explain this to the customer. After he rung me up, I wasn't sure if the sandwich that was sitting next to him was mine, so I asked and he stared at me quite rudely and just said "No." and then handed me mine wordlessly after a few minutes. All us customers stared at each other in amazement at this person's utter rudeness. I was going to go back to purchase meatballs for dinner, but decided against it because this man was so incredibly hateful. Very surprised by this kind of behavior at Eataly, where I'm a regular.
