For over 3 weeks now the distance filter on the search option section has been down. It is impossible to find local items or rental units. They simply don't come up in the search at all, when in fact there are many rental units in my town that are listed on Kijiji. Here is the response I received from Kijiji staff concerning this problem:

I am very sorry to report that we are still experiencing some difficulties with the distance search on our site and our development team is working on resolving it in the quickest manner possible.
When using the Distance search feature, users report not seeing the appropriate amount of Ads - as if the search parameters had been automatically narrowed - or that they are viewing Ads from quite far away (often in different cities).
As the circumstances of this issue seem to vary from one user to the next, more time has been needed to properly (and effectively) re-create these issues at our end.
Although this issue has been escalated, there is no firm date for a resolution. Fortunately, users are able to resolve this situation themselves. Essentially, if a user frequently switches between city markets, the Distance search feature will become "confused".
For example, if a user first searches in the Calgary market, but then subsequently changes to Winnipeg or Saskatoon, the Distance search feature will only register all applicable Ads within the original market (of Calgary). To remedy this issue, users can simply clear their cache and browser cookies. After doing so, they can then select their original market, and have the Distance search feature populate relevant Ads.
