Getafreelancer.com Sneaky Slimy Freelancer.com at it again with poor business practices. As a member in good standing who has referred people to freelancer.com, I finally deleted my account after being fed up with thei

I guess I am not alone with an issue with freelancer.com considering there are almost 700,000 reports on them on usacomplaints.com alone! I wish these Aussies would set up shop in the US, I'd love to see the response they would get there (suggestion: if you do, have a building with no windows)

I have been a member in good standing for a couple years, I have even referred people to freelancer.com who used it for a profit. The customer service is insulting and they treat you like a number - typical cattle through the mill b.S.

Today was the final straw when I received a $30 charge on my paypal that I didnt authorize - Apparently when I paid to take a freelancer.com exam over a year ago I "automatically" signed up for some billing agreement that allowed freelancer to deposit my paypal money into freelancer. Not only that, freelancer suspended my account today one minute after I accepted a gig I was awarded because I didnt have enough money in my freelancer balance to pay them their job fee, despite the employer hadn't even paid the milestone security payment to me yet - So with a suspended account theres no way to cancel the "billing agreement" connected to paypal, or deposit money to get your balance back above water. You can wait a few days for a rigid email response if you want, but today was my last day dealing with this crap. It's not even certain I would have gotten paid from the employer, but freelancer just cant wait to take their share - Funny though, I had a negative balance in freelancer before temporarily and they didnt suspend my account. You'd think the longer your a member the better you would be treated, not the opposite. I've had other problems with freelancer as well, but the issues regarding straight up fraud and stealing from its members should be addressed first. Google "freelancer.com sucks" to read more horror stories - then dont be surprised when it happens to you.
