WLI Reservation Rewards
Fraudulent debit card charge. Card # passed by Fandango.com

$7 charge appeared in my checking account from a company called WLI Reservation Rewards. The only prior knowledge I had of this company was when I purchased fandango movie tickets ~ 2 months ago. They appeared to be a legitimate company working with Fandango and offered a $10 gift certificate for movie tickets. All they asked for was an email account so I went ahead and sent them my spam-mail address. No gift certificate ever appeared, but what did I get was the above mentioned charge. This was confusing to me because I never gave them my debit card number.

A search on google revealed that a lot of other people have had problems with this company and it turns out that once they have your info you get a monthly charge of ~$6-$7. It also revealed that they get your card number by having it passed to them through the supposedly ethical company that you were doing businees with (in my case Fandango). Note that it doesn't matter that you were using a secure web site!

I'll never do business with Fandago again and I've reported the fraudulent charge to my bank. The bank told me that, given the nature of the fraudulent practices of WLI Reservation Rewards, they are reporting my card as stolen.
